Aliya Davletova is a multidisciplinary artist living and working in Vienna, Austria.
Her practice spans analog and digital media, including painting, drawing, sculpture, and 2D/3D animation, as well as immersive environments developed within real-time 3D engines.
Her work is grounded in long-term research into narrative, symbolism, and embodied experience, often drawing on personal histories as a starting point rather than an end in itself. Through figurative and speculative visual languages, she constructs poetic worlds that reference myth, fairy tales, and imagined ecosystems, using these structures to explore psychological states and inner landscapes.

2023 / Textile Interface
Non-Human Sounds Performance

Franka is a handmade textile puppet 2.10 m high, which’s name refers to Frankenstein.
Being connected with ropes to the joints, she acts as a physical interface for both individual and collective interaction. During the interaction Franka, as non Human, comes to life and raises the topic of the lifeless matter revival. She acts as an avatar, doppelgänger, an alternate body connected to the operator/s, which questions the concept of control. Are you controlling her, or she is you?
